Author Guidelines

Guidelines for submission of scientific papers to the online edition of

 "Human. Society. Science"

  1. We accept original scientific papers in Russian and English, corresponding to the profile of the publication and reflecting the results of original scientific research of the authors. The optimal volume of the paper is 4 000-6 000 words. It is not allowed to send to the editorial office already published papers or papers sent for publication in other journals. In case of detection of simultaneous submission of a manuscript to several editions, the published paper will be retracted (withdrawn from publication). Unauthorized citation is monitored using the Anti-Plagiarism system.
  2. Attention should be paid to the quality of the translation. To eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to correct scientific English, we recommend using an English editing service and the following services: ELSEVIER language editing services; Wiley English editing service; Natalia Popova's Scientific Translation Laboratory.
  3. The title of the paper should briefly (no more than 10 words) and accurately reflect the content of the paper, the topic and results of the conducted scientific research (the content should contain the following constructs: variable, result, sample). It should be given in Russian and English.
  4. The abstract serves as an extended title of the paper and tells about its content (the abstract should contain answers to the following questions: why this research is necessary, what was done, what was obtained, what is the benefit of the research). It should clearly identify the following constituent parts:

1) Introduction: the scientific problem and the purpose of the paper are stated.

2) Materials and Methods: provides information about the object and sequence of the study.

3) Results of the study (Results): the author's specific results of the study are given.

4) Discussion and Conclusion: the practical relevance and prospects of the study are indicated.

The given parts of the abstract should be highlighted with appropriate subheadings and relevant information should be presented in these sections. The recommended length of the abstract is 250-500 words. It should be written in Russian and English.

  1. Keywords are the search image of a scientific paper. In all bibliographic databases it is possible to search papers by keywords. In this regard, they should reflect the main provisions, achievements, results, terminology of scientific research. The recommended number of keywords is 5-10. They are given in Russian and English.
  2. Acknowledgements. In this section, mention should be made of people who helped the author to prepare this paper, organizations that provided financial support. It is considered a good tone to express gratitude to anonymous reviewers. Acknowledgements should be given in Russian and English.
  3. The main text of the paper is presented in Russian or English in a certain sequence:

1) Introduction;

2) Literature Review;

3) Materials and Methods;

4) Results;

5) Discussion and Conclusion.

The parts given are required to be distinguished by appropriate subheadings.

1) Introduction (1-2 pages) - statement of the scientific problem, its relevance, connection with the most important tasks to be solved, significance for the development of a certain branch of science or practical activity. The introduction should contain information that will allow the reader to understand and evaluate the results of the research presented in the paper. When writing it, the author should first of all state the general topic of the research, indicate the problems not solved in previous studies, which this paper is intended to solve. In addition, it expresses the main idea of the publication, which differs significantly from the current ideas about the problem, complements or deepens the already known approaches to it; attention is drawn to the introduction of new facts, conclusions, recommendations, and patterns into scientific circulation. The purpose of the paper follows from the statement of the scientific problem.

2) Literature review (1-2 pages). It is necessary to describe the main modern studies and publications on which the author relies; modern views on the problem; difficulties in the development of this topic; highlighting unresolved issues within the general problem to which the paper is devoted. It is desirable to consider 20-40 sources and compare the views of the authors; part of the sources should be English-language. It is important to conduct a comparative analysis with foreign publications on the stated problematic.

3) Materials and Methods (1-2 pages). This section describes the process of organizing the experiment, applied methods, used equipment; indicates the sequence of research and justifies the choice of methods used (observation, survey, testing, experiment, laboratory experience, analysis, modelling, etc.).

4) Results. This part of the paper should present the author's systematized analytical and statistical material. The results of the conducted research should be described fully enough so that the reader could trace its stages and assess the validity of the author's conclusions. This is the main section, the purpose of which is to prove the working hypothesis(s). The results, if necessary, are supported by illustrations (tables, graphs, figures), which present the source material or evidence in a convoluted form. It is important that the illustrated information does not duplicate the information already given in the text. It is desirable to compare the results presented in the paper with previous works in this area, both by the author and other researchers. Such a comparison will additionally reveal the novelty of the work done, will give it objectivity. The results of the study should be summarized, but at the same time contain enough information to evaluate the conclusions drawn. It should also be justified why these particular data were chosen for analysis. All titles, captions and structural elements of graphs, tables, charts, etc. should be in Russian and English.

5) Discussion and Conclusion. The conclusion contains a brief formulation of the results of the study. It summarizes the main thoughts of the main part of the paper. Repetition of the material presented is better to formalize new phrases that differ from those expressed in the main part of the paper. In this section, it is necessary to compare the results obtained with the goal outlined at the beginning of the work. The conclusion summarizes the results of comprehension of the topic, draws conclusions, generalizations and recommendations arising from the work, emphasizes their practical significance, and identifies the main directions for further research in this area. In the final part of the paper it is desirable to include attempts to forecast the development of the considered issues.

  1. List of used sources. The bibliographic description of documents is executed in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 7.0.100-2018. The publication adopts the Vancouver citation style (reference in the text in square brackets, full bibliographic description of the source in the reference list in the order of mentioning in the text of the paper). References should be made primarily to original sources from scientific journals included in global citation indices. It is desirable to use 25-40 sources, at least 20 of them for the last 3 years, foreign sources - at least 15. It is necessary to properly formalize the reference to the source. It is necessary to specify the names of authors, journal (electronic address), year of publication, volume (issue), number, pages, DOI or Internet access address.

It should be written in Russian and English. The list of references includes only peer-reviewed sources (papers from scientific journals) used in the text of the paper.
